DEBUG ROOM Like many of Square's Playstation games, Xenogears features a Debug Room. Nearly every aspect of the game can be tested or altered from within the random rooms and characters standing around. Here's the code to access the Debug Room: 8004F34C 0000 Activate the code, then enter any area or load a game. It'll load the Debug Room. Afterwards, turn the code off. The message you see upon entering the Debug Room. The choice you make seems to have no effect. | Talking to this specific character turns the background green, and also allows you to view each character's portrait. | Here's a random room accessible in the Debug Area. | This is the movie selection menu. Accessing the Debug Room from Disc 2 and selecting the option currently highlighted will allow you to see the "Stars of Tears" music video. A movie not normally seen in the game. |
UNUSED ITEMS There are several unused items in the game. Using this 'Debug Item' gives you 10 of every item in the game when used on any character. Use the GameShark code "3006F672 0021" to have it appear in your inventory. | Using this 'Debug Skill' item will enable all characters to learn every Ether and Deathblow attack instantly. Unfortunately, it also adds all 9 characters to your roster, which causes problems in shops and menus. (Sword-wielding Citan and adult Emeralda are considered to be separate characters by the game.) | In addition to the Debug Skill item being unused, nearly every other item listed on that screenshot is unused as well. (The only exception being the Omegasol.) Most of these items can be used in battle and have effects similar to their names, with the exception of a few that serve no purpose whatsoever. |
PROJECT NOAH? Originally, this game was going to be entitled 'Project Noah,' though this changed somewhere along the course of production. The original logo for this still remains on the game's discs, however.
